World Conservation Day - Manuels River

World Conservation Day

World Nature Conservation Day

All rivers lead to the ocean. It is important to protect them, to protect this.

Today we take time to acknowledge and appreciate all things nature. Here at Manuels River, we have much to celebrate, from the plentiful flora and fauna to the heritage and geology, all of which we are so fortunate to have access to by the Manuels River Trail System.

Our organization was started by a group of proactive individuals who saw the beauty of the river and recognized the value of the unique fossil sites. This group decided to protect them, the history, and the surrounding area. Today we work tirelessly to garner support and spread awareness about the conservation of, not only this location but our planet.

Conservation is about maintaining the integrity of the environment through careful preservation, and protection of natural areas. Minimizing the human impact on our ecosystems is very important, but so is educating the public about how they can help preserve our planet for the future.

Like many other insects, bees are currently threatened by climate change.

Reducing waste, carpooling, and supporting conservation groups are some ways you can help lessen your personal impact on the environment.

We encourage you to take some time, not only today but every day, to immerse yourself in the natural world and allow yourself to experience the inherent value of the nature around us. Picking up trash while walking a nature trail is one great way to keep yourself and the environment healthy, it can also turn into a very rewarding experience!

Manuels River has an interesting ecosystem where many unique plants occur naturally.

We offer many programs on Our Website throughout the year that the public can attend; If you want to get involved with the continued conservation of our trails and river, consider a Trail Keeper Membership or make a donation to Connect The Trails. Your support matters!
